Parts Specialist Responsibilities:

• Sells outdoor power equipment parts to customers walking or calling into the store
• Fills parts requests for the service technicians
• Participates in rolling inventory checks
• Greets customers in a friendly and timely manner
• Follows all company and vendor policies and procedures

 

Daily Duties:

• Ascertains make, year, and type of part needed
• Reads catalogue or computer for replacement part stock number and price
• Fills customer orders from stock and receives and fills telephone orders for parts
• Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available
• Examines returned part to determine if defective and exchanges part of refunds money
• Prepares sales slip or sales contract, receives payment, make the proper change, and wrap or bag merchandise for the customer
• Completes End of Day Report and related procedures
• Alerts the Parts Manager when stock is running low, advise the Parts Manager of trends in parts usage
• Marks and stores parts in the stockroom according to the prearranged system
• Takes inventory of stock, brochures, bulletins, manuals, and publications and presents an accurate count to the Parts Manager
• Manage aging inventory

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years working in a similar position within the heavy equipment or agriculture industry
• WHMIS, JHSC, AODA, training (an asset) or the willingness to participate in training initiatives
• Knowledge of the Kubota lineup of products (an asset)
• Bilingualism (an asset)

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

• The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
• The ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch
• The ability to use step stools and ladders to reach high-shelving items
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly

Compensation:

The compensation package for this position will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience. After a three-month probationary period, employees will have access to a comprehensive benefits plan that includes life insurance. All necessary PPE will be provided.

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 7:30-5:00 pm, at our 45 Slack Road Location. Onsite parking is available.

Responsibilities

  • Check excavators, backhoes, heavy equipment, and agricultural equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
  • Effective communication to vendor (Kubota) with respect to Service Center and/or direct calls to facilitate accurate diagnosis
  • Adjust equipment, repair, or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Accurate ordering of required parts and follow-up to ensure parts are received to complete the assigned service work
  • Improve operating efficiencies and overall customer satisfaction through the timely completion of shop service work
  • Proficiency and proper safe use of all equipment and materials including mechanic's hand tools and air tools, welding and cutting equipment
  • Upon job completion confirming work quality by testing
  • Confirming fluid levels before releasing the machine to the customer
  • Return of unused parts upon the completion of shop service work
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work/shop area
  • Observe all safety and security procedures and report to the shop supervisor any potentially unsafe conditions, hazards, or faulty equipment

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift 50/60 pounds regularly
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • The ability to work in extreme weather, winter coat will be provided
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly

 

Qualifications:

 Red Seal or Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Certification (an asset)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate and complete required training initiatives.
  • Must supply own tools.

Compensation: 

The compensation package for this position will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience. After a three-month probationary period, employees will have access to a comprehensive benefits plan that includes life insurance. All necessary PPE will be provided, including a high-visibility winter coat for on-site work (excluding steel-toed safety boots). The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday, 7:30-5:00 pm at 45 Slack Road, Ottawa, Ontario Location. Onsite parking is available.
